You are a strategic leader with deep expertise in vertically integrated agribusiness, supplier development, and

operational excellence. You excel in building and managing flexible business models that integrate own agriculture

production with external sourcing strategies, ensuring supplier capability development, financial sustainability, and

long-term supply reliability. Your ability to navigate complex agricultural supply chains, design supplier enablement

strategies, and align with corporate sustainability objectives makes you a key player in transforming Diageo’s agave

sourcing ecosystem.

About the role:

Business Model Development & Supplier Enablement:

  • Design and implement a scalable, flexible business model that enables Shared Value suppliers to integrate seamlessly into Diageo’s agriculture supply chain, complementing own production capabilities.
  • Define supplier participation frameworks, operational guidelines, and growth roadmaps under the DSOF program.
  • Ensure suppliers receive the necessary resources, training, and financial mechanisms to adopt advanced DSOF practices.

DSOF Program Deployment & Supplier Adoption

  • Lead the onboarding, enablement, and continuous improvement of suppliers within the DSOF framework.
  • Ensure that suppliers meet mandatory and premium DSOF criteria, including traceability, regenerative agriculture, and social development goals.
  • Develop and execute alongside with Don Julio Agavera University the TCA Cycle (Train, Certify,Audit) to validate supplier performance and sustainability compliance.

Operational Planning & Risk Mitigation

  • Align supplier development strategies with Agriculture Operations to ensure continuity, quality, and reliability.
  • Establish resource planning mechanisms that secure financial sustainability and investment feasibility for Shared Value suppliers.
  • Identify operational risks in supplier integration and develop mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Procurement to ensure that DSOF-certified suppliers meet eligibility requirements for commercial engagement. Said collaboration excludes commercial negotiatons with suppliers (done by procurement).
  • Provide supplier performance insights and capability assessments to Procurement, facilitating informed contracting decisions.
  • Act as a bridge between Agriculture Operations, Procurement, and Supplier Excellence teams and Diageo’s CoE’s to maintain alignment and execution discipline.

Versatility Between Strategic and Operational Roles

  • Ability to seamlessly navigate between high-level strategic planning and detailed operational execution, transitioning from big-picture analysis to hands-on involvement in operational specifics.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness in a dynamic work environment.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to play a pivotal role in our agave sourcing transformation programs, as we are setting a global standard for responsible agricultural sourcing, securing our supply chain with reliable and responsible agricultural raw materials, and leveraging our scale for good.

Experience/requirements:

  • 7+ years in agribusiness, supplier development, or vertically integrated agricultural operations.
  • Fluent in Spanish & English (spoken and written).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing supplier enablement programs within complex supply chains.
  • Strong background in business model innovation, supply chain optimization, and sustainability-driven sourcing.
  • Deep understanding of vertically integrated agro-industrial operations.
  • Experience with supplier capability building, traceability systems, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with agricultural finance mechanisms and sustainable investment models.
  • Ability to design and execute supplier growth frameworks within a corporate sourcing model.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, working cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, and Finance, among others.
  • Data-driven decision-making, with expertise in supplier analytics and business case modeling.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed, balancing 60% office work with 40% fieldwork around Jalisco, to effectively support farmers and collaborate with internal teams.
