Overview
The Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) team is accountable for protecting Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. The AFC Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Quality Control Lead will be responsible for designing and implementing a quality control framework, leading a team of quality control within the Financial Crime Operations (FCO) program, including the associated policies, procedures and controls. The Director will also propose procedural enhancements to the underlying FCO Processes as well as the quality control processes.

What You’ll Do
Maintain a strong investigative culture across FCO by overseeing adherence to internal controls, standards of conduct, and high-quality AML/CTF investigations
Lead and manage financial-crime quality-control specialists, ensuring effective operations, monitoring Quality Assurance performance, and identifying areas for enhancement across the function
Develop and execute departmental strategies and solutions based on quality-review findings, including updates to internal policies, procedures, investigative standards, and global process alignment
Act as an AML/CTF Subject Matter Expert, guiding investigations, assessing emerging trends and typologies, and supporting global standards implementation across the Americas
Provide consolidated periodic and ad-hoc reporting on AML/CTF risk, key indicators, material events, and control issues to the Regional Head of Transaction Monitoring & Intelligence, Americas
Support regulatory examinations, monitor reviews, and internal audits, ensuring timely responses, transparent issue escalation, and effective remediation
How You’ll Lead
Provide strategic direction, coaching, and operational oversight to financial-crime quality-control staff, fostering an inclusive and collaborative team environment
Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders—including business teams, AFC Subject Matter Experts, Technology, and 1st Line of Defense/2nd Line of Defense partners—to drive consistency, process improvements, and Transaction Monitoring (TM) system effectiveness
Maintain strong relationships with regulators, auditors, and monitors by staying current on relevant laws, regulations, financial-crime trends, and global AML/CTF developments
Skills You’ll Need
Proven leadership experience within AML/CTF investigations, including transaction monitoring, financial-crime operations, and quality assurance/quality control oversight
Extensive background in AML/CTF, legal, law-enforcement, compliance, or regulatory functions within financial services, with strong subject-matter expertise in investigations and typologies
Experience managing regulatory examinations, internal audits, and control-issue remediation, with demonstrated ability to design and deliver training for investigative staff
Strong stakeholder-management capabilities, including collaboration across three lines of defense and with business and AFC experts on TM systems implementation and enhancement
Knowledge of banking products and USD payment systems (e.g., SWIFT, CHIPS, ACH, FedFunds), including exposure to Wealth, Markets, Trade Finance, and Correspondent Banking environments

Expectations
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville is $152,500 to $219,125. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
