Job Description & Summary

At PwC, our people in deals focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals.

Those in deal integration and valuation realisation at PwC will focus on assisting clients in successfully integrating acquisitions and maximising the value of their investments. You will be responsible for conducting valuations, financial analysis, and developing strategies for post-merger integration.

Role Summary:

A career within Deals Transaction Services, provides the opportunity to help organizations realize the potential of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and capital markets transactions.  It will provide you the opportunity to deliver innovative deal​s solutions to our clients, providing advice and support, from initiation through to deal completion and delivering value through integration.  In short, we’re a part of helping some of the region's leading companies across industries originate, create, execute, and realize value from deals.  

As part of our team, you will work across a wide spectrum of transaction activity including origination and structuring, valuation, due diligence, deal strategy, corporate finance, divestitures, liquidations and accounting advisory You’ll help our clients by providing client specific deal insight through data analytics, investment/divestment advice including deal pricing and negotiation support, financial modeling and value analysis as well as with navigating the accounting and financial reporting challenges of business combinations and other transformational events.

The ideal candidate must have the confidence to advise and challenge thinking and interact and communicate effectively with external clients and internal firm leadership Managing and building relationships across a large stakeholder group is imperative as you’ll work with numerous individuals across PwC in the Caribbean and the broader network. 

Responsibilities: 

As a Senior Associate, the PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this level include but are not limited to:

Capabilities / skills and experience required: 

  • 4 – 6 years of experience, in a finance, financial/ business analyst or related environment 

  • Experience working at one of the Big 4 accounting or similar organizations would be an asset 

  • Research and analysis of technical matters, while utilizing problem-solving skills which includes the analysis of data sets, demonstrating an aptitude for conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses, using the standard suite of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to execute related deliverables.  

  • Utilization of effective written and verbal business communication skills when interacting with team members and/or clients in a professional setting. 

  • Expertise in financial analysis, including financial statements analysis as well as the ability to compute and interpret ratios and trends 

  • Expertise in business plan reviews, feasibility studies, valuations, financial due diligence, insolvency or restructuring related work, and advising SMEs would be a plus 

  • Ability to conduct economic and market research, in order to articulate the landscape within which the client operates 

  • Abilities as a team member building relationships, communicating in an organized and knowledgeable manner, and delivering clear requests for information; 

  • Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks under time pressure; understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback; and communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor. 

  • Maintaining confidentiality 

Education Level (minimum requirement plus any additional desirable qualifications): 

Minimum Degree Required  

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance; Economics; Business Administration/ Management; or a related field from a recognised university 

Additional Qualifications / Experience  

  • Completed or pursuing further qualifications such as Certified Business Valuator (CBV) or CFA  

  • Data analytics skills (Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx);
