Overview of the role:

Saputo Dairy Products Canada is seeking a passionate Advisor, Quality Assurance. The incumbent will report directly to the Director, Quality Assurance and based in St-Laurent Quebec.  This person is responsible for the development and management of quality and food safety programs for assigned Saputo Plants, co-packers, Warehouses and Branches.

Salary: $66 960 - $87 890

*Salary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training.

How you will make contributions that matter:

  • Provide support to assigned plants in the area of Quality Assurance and Food Safety by providing direction and guidance through a thorough understanding of Saputo quality and food safety standards

  • Conduct scheduled QA plant, warehouse, Branch and copacker audits

  • Conduct scheduled plant visits to assigned plants to follow-up and provide support in areas related to quality and food safety

  • Assist plants in becoming prepared for upcoming customer, regulatory and GFSI (BRC) audit; 

  • Follow up on complaints originating from assigned plants and copackers. Work with plants and copackers to assess root cause, corrective action and prevention of quality issues. Provide written responses to Sales and customers, as required

  • Professionally communicate with Sales and Customers in order to satisfy customer requirements

  • Assess the suitability of potential new copackers via audits and reviews of technical and quality data

  • Pro-actively work on assigned department tasks and projects related to Quality and Food safety

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in a similar position

  • University degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or other related discipline

  • Strong knowledge of plant QA systems including HACCP /GFSI, Food safety and laboratory practices and procedures

  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal and analytical skills are prerequisites

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office computer applications

  • Experience in the dairy industry, especially cheese and fluid, is desirable

  • Bilingualism (French and English), as the person will need to communicate with various colleagues and partners across Canada
  • Ability to travel to various plant locations across Canada is required
