Cardiothoracic SurgeryOverview:
The Cardiothoracic Surgery (CTS) Advanced Practice Provider team at Sentara Heart Hospital (SHH) is seeking a full time APP to support our Cardiac OR and ICU in Norfolk, VA. This role is devoted to the care of the peri-operative CTS patient population in the OR and ICU setting. The CTS OR/ICU APP ensures best practices are implemented for the cardiothoracic surgery patient through all phases of care, pre-operatively through outpatient follow-up. Ongoing, active participation and evaluation of quality care initiatives, improvements, patient care outcomes, and overall effectiveness of the CTS program is required. This is a rotating schedule including call, nights, and weekends.
The ideal candidate is one with a dedication for high quality care and excellence in customer service. A cardiothoracic surgery background and at least two years of advanced practice experience in an acute care clinical setting is highly preferred. Critical care and operative background preferred. Preference given to candidates with endoscopic vein harvest experience.
