Position Highlights

  • Position: Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) – Interventional Cardiology
  • Location: Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time (average of 40 hours/wk)
  • Hours: 4 10-hour shifts scheduled Monday and Friday. Staggered shifts: 7:00AM – 5:00PM & 9:00AM – 7:00PM. No weekends, holidays, or call.

Job Description

Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) – Interventional Cardiology!

  • In collaboration with their collaborating physician, the APP provides comprehensive inpatient care from admission to discharge. Obtains histories, performs physical examinations, and orders and interprets diagnostic studies, including imaging, laboratory tests, and procedures.
  • The APP will develop and manage treatment plans, prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies in accordance with established protocols and their scope of practice. Educates patients on therapeutic regimens including pre- and post-operative care while maintaining accurate, and timely documentation of all clinical activity.
  • Coordinates care across the continuum, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes and ensure high-quality, evidence-based care. Assesses patient and family educational needs to deliver to support health promotion, disease prevention, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
  • The APP functions autonomously within scope of practice while contributing to patient safety, quality improvement initiatives, and an exceptional patient experience. Participates in the development and evaluation of clinical standards and service line goals, aligning practice with organizational priorities and adhering to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
  • Current Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification through the NCCPA or Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification (e.g., ANCC – AANP)
  • Education: Completion of Master’s level program in specialty area
  • Certification: BLS and ACLS certification through AHA required
  • Experience: Prior APN/PA experience highly preferred

Specialty Knowledge and Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of interventional cardiology, including coronary and structural heart disease, catheter-based therapies, and peri-procedural management
  • Proficiency in interpreting cardiovascular diagnostics (e.g., ECG, hemodynamics, cardiac imaging, and cath lab data) to guide clinical decision-making
  • Ability to manage acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions across the continuum, coordinating care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
