Job Summary: This is a full performance level position that provides comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment within the established scope of practice to support safe and appropriate mental health care. Major Duties:
Qualifications: To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Nurse Series 0610 In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Basic Requirements for the GS-11 (or equivalent) Grade Level: In addition to the above requirements, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: Successful completion of a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree from a professional nursing educational program or related medical science field; or At least one full year of professional nursing experience (equivalent to the GS-9 grade level) and possession of a diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or master's degree from a professional nursing educational program. Professional nursing experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level: provide direct and comprehensive primary, preventive and therapeutic medical and nursing care to patients; Develops evidence-based, culturally responsive, and cost-effective plans of care in collaboration with patients and families; Monitors treatment efficacy and adverse effects using evidence-based measures to ensure safety and quality of care. Provides psychotherapy within scope of practice and certification Basic Requirements for the GS-12 (or equivalent) Grade Level: In addition to the mandatory license and education described above under Basic Requirements applicants must have at least one or more full years of professional nursing experience that is equivalent to the next lower grade level. Provides comprehensive mental and psychiatric services, maintenance, emergency, and therapeutic services to individuals; Assesses mental and comorbid physical health status, implements interventions, and evaluates treatment outcomes; Participates in the planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of mental health programs across the lifespan; Provides consultation to the healthcare team on the implementation and evaluation of clinical protocols You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
