Advanced Medical Solutions (AMS) Field Quality Director

Role Summary
The Field Quality Director is a multifaceted role partnering with field medical leadership to co-design, develop and deploy field-facing quantitative resources to facilitate scientific exchange with healthcare organizational stakeholders to improve quality and outcomes.  The role involves understanding the healthcare landscape and associated data and information to advance Medical Affairs through developing and deploying scalable tools and resources.  


Reports to Advanced Medical Solutions Lead. Key Partners are AMS Team, Field Medical (FM), Real World Data/Evidence, PAMT, Data Science & Engineering, Global Medical Affairs, external consultants, CROs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities


1) Field and HCO Enablement

  • Work cross-functionally in support of health care organizations to identify educational insights for decision-making

  • Development of tools and resources (eg, dashboards, evidence-based tools, insight decks) using real world data to support HCO interactions and projects

  • Translate complex analytics into clear insights tailored to internal and external audiences (eg, HCOs, digital, brand medical, field medical)

  • Provide training, data-literacy support to upskill FM and serve as a resource

  • Support evidence-based scientific exchange

  • Inform data and analytic plans for FM to use with HCOs

2) Strategic Quality Improvement Execution

  • Identify data-driven approach for quality improvement activities

  • Develop and deploy analytics strategy in tandem FM and brand priorities

  • Incorporate data-driven quality improvement strategies into field-facing tools and resources

  • Analyze data using real-world data sources such as electronic health records, health information exchange, claims data by building analytic logic as appropriate (eg, SQL, Python, R)

  • Identify user requirements for resources (eg, dashboards, unmet need analyses, segmentation, predictive models) for field medical colleagues to use with HCOs in their quality improvement efforts

3) Support for Medical Excellence & Operational Leadership through Quality Improvement

  • Support quality improvement efforts through leading process improvement, SOP alignment, and performance measurement activities

  • Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and metrics.

  • Ensure standardized documentation and inspection readiness.


4) Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance

  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, Privacy, and Regulatory.

  • Engage with engineering teams to scale analytics tools.

  • Maintain alignment with central analytics standards.

5) Leadership, Mentorship & Data Literacy

  • Mentor colleagues on analytics, data methods, and storytelling to support quality improvement.

  • Promote reproducibility, documentation, and data quality.

  • Define KPIs and communicate progress to leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

  • 8+ years of healthcare analytics experience with a BA/BS degree required or 7+ years of experience with MBA/MS degree required or 5+ year of experience with PhD required

  • Degree in Data Science, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or similar

  • Experience collaborating with clinicians, payers, or field teams on quality improvement activities

  • Strong background in RWE, quality-improvement analytics, and clinical data interpretation.

  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative quality improvement methodologies

  • Experience with secondary data

  • Knowledgeable about study design and methods such as conduct of research, development of quality improvement strategies and use of data by internal and external stakeholders

  • SQL + Python or R proficiency.

  • Expertise with RWD, claims, EHR (Epic Clarity/Caboodle).

  • Strong data visualization skills (Tableau, Power BI, Spotfire).

  • Experience with predictive modeling and segmentation.

  • Attention to detail, collaboration, and professionalism.

  • Flexibility and ability to balance multiple initiatives

  • Ability to manage and lead in a matrix structure

  • Growth, proactive mindset


Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS/MPH/PhD) in Data Science, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or similar

  • Strong influencing, communication, and collaboration capabilities.

  • Ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams.

  • Skilled data storyteller able to translate information to insights to drive strategic action in support of quality activities

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $176,600.00 to $294,300.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
