We Require

  • One year of professional library experience

  • Master’s degree in Library Science from an American Library Associated (ALA) accredited school

Job Contributions

  • Interviews, trains, supervises, and evaluates assigned branch staff and volunteers

  • Schedules staff and authorizes leave to ensure an equitable distribution of work and adequate staffing

  • Assists with establishing, evaluating, and revising branch goals, objectives, policies, and procedures

  • Provides exceptional customer service by responding to customer queries and concerns, assisting customers with digital devices, and promoting all material types and products

  • Identifies needs and provides recommendations for improving branch operations (use of space, equipment, staffing, training, etc.)

  • Oversees maintenance, safety, and security of the branch

  • Acts on behalf of the Large Branch Manager in his/her absence

  • Acts as a liaison to outside organizations and serves on standing and/or ad-hoc committees

  • Plans and conducts programs for the public

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a library setting, typically consisting of office or administrative work, and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions

  • Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. occasionally, 10 lbs. frequently, or negligible amounts constantly, and walk/stand to a significant degree
