About Us

Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.

About The Role

We are looking for a motivated and organised Administrator to join our dedicated team in Glasgow. The role will be responsible for providing administrative support to the front line teams, processing and inputting information and supporting front line staff to provide an exceptional service. You will have a key role ensuring the back office function runs smoothly to ensure consistent, accurate and up to data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Operational team and Partnering Manager
  • Provide support ordering park permits for the frontline staff
  • Communicating with local authorities
  • Managing emergency cash payments
  • Managing he amin inbox – answering questions and queries
  • Engage with colleagues, residents, and external stakeholders professionally via phone and email
  • Raise and process orders, ensuring correct certification for each property
  • Maintain accurate paperwork, ensuring jobs are coded correctly and records are up to date
  • Produce reports for management, including profit percentages and performance updates
  • Build effective working relationships with supervisors, housing teams, and contractors to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Support the team with scheduling, record-keeping, and general administration

Key Criteria

  • Experience in similar duties
  • Strong background in Administration
  • Experience within Social Housing environment
  • Experience of working to deadlines in busy office environment
  • Experience of working in a pressurised environment and dealing with challenging situations
  • Strong customer experience ethos
  • Good time management, planning & organisational skills
  • Good written, verbal, questioning & interpersonal skills
  • Good on computerised systems
