Summary:

Ensures that non inventory materials are received in a timely fashion and ensures that all items entering the facility do not leave the receiving area before all appropriate documentation is received. Follows up with appropriate internal / external contacts to ensure the dock is cleared daily. Acts as a back-up to the Receiver.

Essential Functions: 

  • Verify incoming goods against the packing slip and Purchase Orders (POs).

  • Coordinate with departments to ensure that POs are generated before materials leave the receiving area.

  • Deliver goods and photocopier paper distribution.

  • Handle the pickup of small items that will require courier shipment and return them to warehouse for shipping preparation.

  • Serve as a back-up receiver, handling inventory labels and shipments.  

  • Enters non inventory material receipts into Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP).  

  • Assist with outbound shipments to clients and waste shipments, goods receipt of inbound shipments.

  • Maintain a safe working environment and report potential hazards.

  • Perform alternating or rotating shift work as required.

  • Travel to the offsite warehouse location as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of previous experience in an administration role, preferably in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.  

  • Previous pump-truck experience and/or forklift certification/license preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Highly organized and able to undertake and prioritize a multitude of tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail, highly efficient and effective time management skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Work efficiently with limited supervision. 

  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. 

  • Proficiency with the English Language.


 Physical Requirements:

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about manufacturing/office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of up to 40 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity; visual acuity to operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Usually in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort from such things as dust, loud noise, bright lights, fumes or odour. Use of Personal Protective equipment is required and may include any of the following: safety glasses, safety shoes, lab coat, gloves, hair net, beard cover, safety apron, respirator.

Compensation

The salary range estimated for this position based in Ontario is $46,600.00–$69,100.00.
