Job Summary: This vacancy is for an Administrative Technician OA position in the Associate Director for Field Operations Field Division, Denver Regional Office located in Lakewood, CO This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Administrative Technician OA, 0303-6, FPL None, positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Major Duties:

  • Audits, computes and certifies payroll data, travel certifications and miscellaneous invoices for payment in an automated system.
  • Coordinate and monitor all recruitment activities and prepares close out packages for audit to ensure that recruitment process was in accordance with established procedures.
  • Compiles administrative reports using database or spreadsheet software and maintains administrative records electronically such as correspondence, travel certifications, personnel actions, time and attendance records and requisition documents.

Qualifications: Minimum Education Requirement: To be minimally qualified for this position you MUST have a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute with three or fewer errors in a five-minute writing sample. AND Specialized Experience: For the GS-06, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes updating and maintaining automated systems; assisting with the preparation and planning of projects; researching information for assigned projects; assisting in the preparation of policy and procedures; scheduling meetings; developing and maintaining an office tracking system; and proofreading, editing and preparing correspondence. Education: Education cannot be substituted for experience at this level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
