Job Description:

Summary:

The Administrative Support (Student) will assist the Executive Assistant to the Vice President of Inclusive Excellence by providing high-quality administrative and operational support. Duties include managing calendars and scheduling meetings, preparing documents and correspondence, maintaining organized records, and supporting the logistics of office events and initiatives. The student worker will also contribute to special projects and help facilitate the smooth operation of daily office workflows and internal communications.

This position is an integral part of the team’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and efficient work environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage calendars and scheduling meetings.

  • Prepare documents and correspondence.

  • Maintain organized records.

  • Support the logistics of office events and initiatives.

  • Contribute to special projects and help facilitate the smooth operation of daily office workflows and internal communications.

  • Other duties assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • Part-time.

  • 15 hours per week.

Salary Range:

  • $18.40 per hour.

Required Education and Preferred Experience:

  • Must be a currently enrolled undergraduate student at American University.

  • Experience or interest in managing calendars, scheduling, and office records efficiently.

  • Experience or strong interest in supporting office events, communications, and initiatives.

  • Familiarity with office software and digital tools for document management and communication.

  • Effective interpersonal and professional communication skills.

  • Proven reliability, punctuality, and ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Commitment to inclusive language and practices in all communications.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Dates of employment are June 1st - August 1st.
