Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

This position provides essential clerical and administrative support while serving as a welcoming first point of contact for customers and staff. Responsibilities include providing front desk customer service, managing general phone inquiries, receiving and processing claims, and scanning and indexing documents to maintain accurate records. The role also assists with the Legal Class Verification process and supports the Meeting Management Team in setting up, assisting
with running meeting presentations, and training to take official meeting minutes for
board meetings. This position requires adherence to Open Meeting Law, including timely posting of meeting notices and results.

We Require

  • Three years of experience performing specialized clerical duties
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Post-secondary education may substitute for two years of the required experience

We Also Value

  • Experience working with Elected Officials and their staff or governmental departments and offices
  • Knowledge of Arizona Open Meeting Law beneficial
  • Experience researching and interpreting statutes
  • Experience with professional writing in an office setting (i.e. structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar)

Job Contributions

  • Perform various clerical and support services
  • Attend Board of Supervisors meetings to assist the public and help facilitate proceedings
  • Provide meeting management support by preparing professional written minutes that document Board actions for historical records
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Open Meeting Law and County policy
  • Assist with property class reclassification appeals using independent judgment to make recommendations to Board of Supervisors for approval or denial. Assist applicants, prepare agenda items, and address constituent concerns
  • Perform duties of Special Limited Duty Deputy Clerk
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Standard office work environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
  • Must have the manual dexterity of hands and body to operate office equipment
  • Must be able to bend and lift/carry up to 25 pounds and sit/stand for long periods of time
