Job Summary: This position is located in Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.

Major Duties:

  • Provide accurate and reliable advice on a wide range of administrative functions as these apply to the park, either as personal advisory service to the Superintendent and Division Chiefs or by directing (or obtaining services of) specialists, technicians and clerical support positions in delivering services to management and employees of the park. As a member of the park management team, plans, analyzes and monitors the formulation and development of park-wide plans, programs, procedures, operating policies, internal controls and program goals. Responsible for keeping the park's revenues and spending in balance through sound advice and supervision of the staff of the Administration/Business Office dedicated to budget and financial management on a day-to-day basis. Is responsible for providing information technology, connectivity, communications (local, long distance, cellular and/or satellite telephone, facsimile) and automation advice in support of programs for the park, and for directing the work of staff assigned to provide technical support to the park. Supervises the business management/administration staff of the park.

Applicants must be at least (1)18 years old or (2) at least 16 years old and: (a) Have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school; or (b) Have completed a formal vocational training program; or (c) Have received a statement from school authorities agreeing with their preference for employment rather than continuing their education; or (d) Be currently enrolled in a secondary school and either work only during school vacation periods or work part-time during the school year under a formal student employment program. EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: planning, coordinating, and tracking budget/finance for a variety of fund sources and interdisciplinary work groups; and providing position and workforce management analyses and recommendations. Overseeing or managing a procurement and property management program; managing an Information Technology program, housing program, concessions management, and/or analyzing and reconciling budget and fiscal documents; assisting with or developing budget submissions; project management, hiring actions, FBMS property roles, generating a variety of written documents, reports, etc., to communicate detailed administrative information; and explaining, planning, directing, or recommending or providing guidance on regulatory or statutory requirements, policies, and procedures. . You must include hours per week worked. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. ICTAP/CTAP Statement: Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.
