Job Summary: Reclamation is seeking a career professional looking for an opportunity to capitalize on their expertise as a Administrative Officer. You can make a difference in the West by assisting in meeting increasing water demands while protecting the environment. Duty Location: Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Basin Region, Lower Colorado Dams Office, physically located at the Hoover Dam in Clark County, NV. Full time telework or remote work not available.

Major Duties:

  • Serves as the Administrative Officer and provides on-going direction, guidance, support, and communication on a variety of management services essential to the general management of the Area Office. Collaborates with heads of other units to negotiate, decide on, and coordinate work-related changes affecting other organizations. Provides substantial management advisory services on assigned programs. Manages supervisors and direct reports in support services activities. Formulates and establishes work plans, schedules, and changes in methods and procedures for subordinate organizational elements and employees. Reviews employee performance, approves leave, resolves disciplinary/performance issues, and develops training plans. Develops immediate and long-range program plans, goals, objectives, and milestones for assigned administrative functions for the LCDO.

Qualifications: In order to be rated as qualified for this position, the HR Office must be able to determine that you meet the specialized experience requirement - this information must be clearly supported in the resume. To qualify at the GS-13 level, your resume must clearly reflect one year of full-time experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 in Federal service providing advisory services to management on human resources issues, experience in formulating a budget and experience with the contracting (property or procurement) process. Time-In-Grade: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower-grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Applicants eligible under the Land Management Workforce Flexibility Act (LMWFA) are not required to meet time-in-grade restrictions in order to be considered.
