The Director of Quality Reporting and Registries will serve as a key leader within the OU Health Quality Data Management and Analytics department managing all aspects of chart abstraction, regulatory reporting, and integration of clinical registries. This role will support our commitment to data-driven decision-making to enhance clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Chart abstraction
- Oversee all data abstraction activities (electronic and manual) to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
- Work closely with medical staff to resolve discrepancies and missing information.
-Identify and leverage opportunities for improvement in data abstraction processes, including automation where possible.
Regulatory Reporting
-Implement standard operating procedures for submission of regulatory reports to all applicable agencies (CMS, Joint Commission, etc.).
- Maintain compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations and internal data transparency standards by ensuring accuracy and completeness of information through audits and reviews.
-Review incoming reports to identify trends or issues that may require additional investigation or process improvement.
-Work with internal stakeholders to enhance data reporting processes.
-Communicate with external agencies such as CMS and state regulators to coordinate efforts and resolve conflicts
Integration of Clinical Registries
-Maintain accurate inventory of all active clinical registries across OU Health.
-Work closely with AVP Quality and Data Management and Analytics and clinical teams to identify opportunities for data enhancement and standardization.
-Work with internal stakeholders to enhance data reporting processes.
-Develop recommendations pertaining to the value and effectiveness of participation, including both existing and proposed clinical registries.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
-Collaborate with clinical leaders, IT professionals, quality improvement teams, and other departments to align data initiatives with organizational objectives.
-Facilitate interdisciplinary data-driven discussions to drive improvements in patient care.
Team Management
-Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data analysts, data managers, and professionals
-Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Master’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field required.
Experience: 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience in chart abstraction, regulatory reporting and compliance, or data science required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience with chart abstraction, regulatory and public reporting functions, and process improvement.
Strong knowledge of healthcare data standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Excellent team-leadership experience and skills. Leadership in an academic health system or large healthcare organization is highly required.
Highly skilled in communication, cross-functional collaboration and negotiation.
Expertise in team-building and relationship management. Ability to effectively manage competing stakeholder priorities.
