How you’ll make a difference: 
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing timely and efficient customer service in support of organizational goals by providing a variety of professional administrative support to the Registration and Account Services Supervisor and team.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support to the Registration and Account Services Team.
  • Prepares annual, monthly, weekly, and daily statistics on team and individual performance, and distributes these statistics to leadership, other support areas and individual Registration Clerks.
  • Using Excel expertise, prepares scorecard related information for all business areas within WCB.
  • Provides coverage for Registration Clerks by registering new claims and processing updates on existing claims.
  • Manages team absences and vacation allotments for each calendar year. This includes conducting meetings with staff members and explaining vacation guidelines or conflicts.
  • Manages the purchase of office supplies, ergonomic equipment and is accountable for budget allocation for these expenses.
  • Organizes and participates in team activities, coordinates and books rooms for team meetings and presentations.
  • Communicates with internal and external stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Triages and processes returned mail for the department, triages which documents require prioritization in the Registration and Account Services mailbox.
  • Works with other Administrative Assistants in the unit to ensure coverage and administrative support requirements are met.

Your experience and skills:

  • High school diploma supplemented with university or college education, or two years related experience. 
  • Certificate or diploma in Office Administration is considered an asset.
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliability and time management are integral to success in this position.
  • Must be skilled at proofreading and preparing various types of correspondence in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Excellent organizational skills along with the ability to work well independently with interruptions.
  • Demonstrated values such as stewardship, service excellence, learning and growth, responsibility, respect, teamwork, and integrity.

Salary:  $48,332 to $53,695 per annum (Salary Grade 5)

Successful candidate must reside in Alberta and be able to work in person from our Edmonton downtown office as required. This position is temporary for a period of up to one year with the possibility of extension or permanency. Final candidates are required to undergo a security clearance as a condition of employment.
