Provides administrative support to the Department Chair and Associate Chair for Food, Agricultural & Biological Engineering within the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences; serves as point of contact for the Chair and the Associate Chair with regard to administrative issues; prepares confidential and routine correspondence and documents; initiates and develops administrative procedures; trains, and communicates directives to department faculty, staff and students; represents the department to other administrators and outside agencies; serves on departmental, college and university-wide committees; manages office functions; resolves operating problems and coordinate resolution of employee complaints and grievances; independently responds to inquiries regarding administrative matters, and resolves problems on behalf of the associate chair; coordinates department Federal reporting; processes deposits; creates and manages Cvent system events, acts as local PCard manager ensuring compliance with university and college policies and procedures; serves as cost center asset tracking specialist, assists with the onboarding of new faculty, staff, visiting scholars, graduate students and students; oversees equipment inventory; manages building access paperwork; coordinates department meetings; assists with building coordinators on facilities issues; assists Grants and Contracts Specialist in proposal preparation, including requesting, reviewing, and compiling supporting documents, researching the cost of travel, and expenses for grant budgets. Other duties as assigned. This position is located in Wooster, Ohio.

Minimum Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
