Job Description:

Winchester Hospital is a 5x Magnet designated, Top Massachusetts recognized 226-bed regional hospital that is the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area.

As an Administrative Assistant for our Radiation Oncology Team Team, you will support the department by managing various types of support data, including phone lists and lab test worksheets. Responsibilities include the following:

- Registering patients and preparing charts as needed, while reviewing basic personal information with each patient.

- Scheduling patient appointments and hospital admissions according to established procedures.

- Coordinating the scheduling of diagnostic, therapeutic, or surgical procedures in collaboration with physicians, patients, and other hospital personnel.

- Preparing notices and mailings for departmental distribution.

- Maintaining and updating patient files, correspondence files, general and subject files, committee files, and a small library of journals and relevant reprints.

- Receiving and screening visitors and telephone calls, notifying appropriate personnel or recording messages.

- Responding to general inquiries by relating or referring to established policies and procedures.

- Ordering supplies and sorting and distributing mail as necessary.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

  • High School Diploma with knowledge of computers and basic office practice

  • Excellent customer skills.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time.

Schedule: Three 8hr shifts - Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays are the ideal days, but there may be some flexibility.

 

 

Pay Range:

$20.00 - $26.92

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
