Administration Assistant – AOD Services- Full time

Join a team that’s changing lives every day. As an Administration Assistant in our AOD recovery service, you’ll keep the wheels turning—supporting finance, customer service and daily operations so our frontline team can focus on what matters most: helping people rebuild their lives.

Why this role matters

The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.

What You Will Do

  • Support finance functions including accounts payable/receivable, banking, client trust fees and reconciliations
  • Deliver friendly, efficient customer service across phone, email and face‑to‑face interactions
  • Liaise with Centrelink, Job Providers and internal teams
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement across the service
  • Be an active, supportive member of the team—attending meetings and collaborating daily
  • Maintain safe work practices in line with TSA policies
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and uphold TSA values

What You Will Bring

  • Accounting or business training/certification
  • 2–3 years accounting experience with the ability to work independently
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • High initiative, motivation and a solid work ethic
  • Excellent time management and task prioritisation
  • Confident computer skills, including MS Office and accounting systems
  • Experience in community or NFP settings (highly regarded)
  • Current QLD driver’s licence
