Adelaide Doorways provides essential, compassionate support to individuals and families experiencing hardship. As the first point of contact for community members, you help create a welcoming, safe and respectful environment where people feel heard and supported. Your contribution ensures the smooth running of services that make a real difference in people’s lives.
The Administration Assistant provides reception and administrative support across Adelaide Doorways and the Adelaide Congress Hall Corps. You will manage front-of-house enquiries, coordinate bookings, maintain accurate records, and support the day-to-day operations of the site. This role suits someone who is organised, community-minded and confident working in a busy, people-focused environment.
This permanent part-time position is 19 hours per week, worked across Tuesday and Thursday full days and Friday mornings, and is pay in accordance with SCHADS Level 2.4.
Provide warm, professional reception support for visitors, clients and stakeholders
Respond to phone, email and in-person enquiries, directing matters appropriately
Manage appointment bookings and escalate urgent issues to the Site Coordinator
Maintain a tidy, welcoming reception area with current resources
Support Doorways Emergency Relief when required, including referrals and food parcel distribution
Accurately enter client information into SAMIS in line with TSA standards
Provide general administrative support including photocopying, mail, document preparation and stock ordering
Receive and distribute deliveries (e.g., OzHarvest, SecondBite, donations)
Collaborate with Corps staff to maintain facility cleanliness and WHS standards
Work alongside volunteers, offering guidance and fostering a positive team environment
Assist with archiving, inventory management and basic site coordination tasks
Participate in team meetings, training and site activities
Experience in administration or receptionist duties within a community services or health-related industry
Strong customer service skills and a warm, professional communication style
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital systems
Understanding of community services and alignment with The Salvation Army mission and values
