Administration Assistant

Classification: SCHADS Level 2.1

Location: Redhill, Moonyah

Status: Part-time (22.8 hours per week)

About the Role

We’re looking for an organised, proactive Administration Assistant to join our team at the Brisbane Recovery Services Centre. In this role, you’ll provide essential administrative and accounting support that helps our service run smoothly and contributes to the broader mission of The Salvation Army. You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive team committed to making a positive impact every day.

Why this role matters

The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Deliver prompt, friendly and efficient service to both internal and external stakeholders via phone, email, online platforms and face‑to‑face interactions.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with data entry, filing, assessment enquiries, and provide relief reception as needed.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance service delivery.
  • Team Contribution: Engage in team meetings, support colleagues, and contribute to a positive, effective team environment.

What You will Bring

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with a wide range of people.
  • Confident written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A flexible, positive attitude and willingness to support the team where needed.
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office and database systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and a customer‑focused approach.
  • 2–3 years of administration experience, ideally with some autonomy in your role.
  • Experience in a community or not‑for‑profit environment (highly regarded).
  • A current QLD driver’s licence.
