Job Purpose

Ensure actuarial governance standards are maintained through consistent compliance with internal and external requirements. Coordinate and monitor reinsurance activities to support operational needs. Assist in supporting CATO initiatives, including new or ad-hoc requirements, by guiding team execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Actuarial governance

  • Support the overall management of actuarial governance framework, ensure compliance with internal and external requirements by coordinating with the relevant teams. (e.g. GWS, ICFR, GO policy/guidelines, OIC requirements).

  • Collaborate with the pricing and internal actuarial teams to review actuarial aspects of new products, and support the preparation of actuarial summaries in the Product Approval Request (PAR) for submission to CATO

Actuarial assumption setting

  • Conduct expense studies and develop best estimate assumption, including IFRS17 classification.

  • Review of compensation scheme for all channels. Ensure the appropriate best estimate assumption is used, consistency between actual and assumption, and assess the impact to key financial metrics.

Reinsurance

  • Coordinate reinsurance activities including monthly reporting, treaty updates, and stakeholder engagement to ensure operational accuracy and timeliness.

  • Review and compile reinsurance reports and commentaries for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring quality and compliance.

Projects

  • Support new or ad-hoc requirements, new compensation scheme and any assigned projects or lead/support work on high priority deliverables with the Actuarial department.
