Actuarial Analyst, Pricing and Product Development, Individual Insurance

As an Actuarial Analyst, Pricing and Product Development, Individual Insurance, you contribute to the profitability and the risk return balance of individual insurance products by carrying out actuarial and statistical analyses. Your work supports product pricing, performance monitoring, and business decision making, in alignment with the organization’s pricing strategies. You contribute to problem solving through analyses and your comprehensive knowledge of the business domain. You leverage your ability to manage complexity. You play a professional support role within your field for your unit, assigned clients, and partners. More specifically, you will be required to:

  • Contribute to various development activities, studies, analyses, and actuarial calculations related to your unit’s mandates.

  • Design or update tools, projection models, databases, systems, and product developments, and ensure their ongoing monitoring.

  • Perform analyses. Prepare various reports and recommendations.

  • Provide advisory support in the implementation of these recommendations.

  • Participate in the development and proposal of action plans aimed at addressing identified issues, in accordance with established guidelines and generally accepted standards.

  • Develop and document work methods and processes.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or a related discipline

  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Relevant experience in individual insurance (life, disability, critical illness, etc.)

  • Advanced proficiency in French, both spoken and written

  • Advanced proficiency in English, due to the nature of the duties, work tools, or interactions with English speaking partners, members, and clients

  • Knowledge of the AXIS tool

  • Knowledge of actuarial modeling and data analysis
