POSITION SUMMARY
This person supervises the safe and efficient daily operations of the Base Area Activities for both summer and winter seasons. This includes outdoor amusement features (bounce house and mining sluice) and Ice rink operation and skate rental.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Responsible for supervision of Activities/Rental staff
Assist in operation of activities while open
Inspect and set up all Activities equipment prior to opening
Assist in staff management and administration including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations and disciplinary action
Answering questions and resolving any guest issues that arise
Ice surface building and seasonal transformation of rink
Monitoring and maintenance of ice conditions on the rink
Snow removal of ice rink
Overseeing skate rental operation and maintenance of skate inventory
Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1 year in a position with emphasis on customer service
Previous supervisory skills
2 years of previous work history/education required
Must have valid driver’s license
Experience operating heavy equipment (skid steer, forklift, Ice resurfacer) preferred
Experience with basic hand tools and construction
Must feel comfortable using information systems including sales programs and Microsoft Office
Communicate clearly in English, both verbal / non-verbal, and written
Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company’s Service Excellence standards
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED equivalent
The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term and long-term incentives.
Steamboat Resort salary range: $20.72 - $29.84 per hour
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must sit or stand for long periods of time 8-10 hours
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Must be minimum of 18 years of age
