About the Role
As part of a global team within Group Security, the Anti-Counterfeit Regional Investigations Manager reports to the Global Lead for Anti-Counterfeiting (ACF). The main function of the role is to tactically develop and implement the ACF strategy, manage and supervise ACF Program investigations and activities in the designated geographic region to include country specific plans. Responsibilities include intelligence assessment, case selection, the management and oversight of anti-counterfeit investigations (online and offline), proactive investigation case management, to include the development and implementation of innovative approaches and investigative strategies to meet business needs.
The manager will collaborate with internal business stakeholders, law enforcement, legal teams, and external partners to drive enforcement actions and strategic initiatives. The role ensures the protection of the company’s intellectual property, brand integrity, and consumer trust by identifying, investigating, and mitigating counterfeit activities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop operational relationships with key internal stakeholders including business, legal, corporate affairs, and corporate communications
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with law enforcement agencies, industry bodies, regulatory authorities, and peer organizations
- Build and maintain strategic and tactical investigation service supplier relationships, promoting innovation, responsiveness, cost optimization, return on investment (ROI), and continuous improvement
- Develop KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure program effectiveness and return on investment (ROI)
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders
Operational Execution
- Conduct risk assessments to identify high-risk markets and products
- Develop and implement regional anti-counterfeit strategies aligned with global brand protection goals
- Provide instruction and guidance to external investigation suppliers based on the strategic direction set by the Global Program Lead
- Provide effective case management oversight and direction by working with external investigation suppliers to ensure investigations are conducted and reported efficiently and in accordance with Haleon’s ACF Program Strategy
- Develop intelligence strategies to identify and monitor counterfeiting trends
- Oversee regional monitoring of counterfeit activities across online and offline channels
- Implement a regional customs strategy to identify key strategic ports and counterfeiting routes, product authentication training opportunities, and intelligence dissemination practices
- Coordinate with law enforcement, customs, regulatory bodies, and industry coalitions to pursue and, when appropriate attend, enforcement actions
- Ensure ACF Program compliance with international IP laws and regulations
- Support litigation efforts related to counterfeit activities
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of counterfeit trends and regulatory changes
- Manage the regional anti-counterfeit program budget, ensuring effective forecasting, spend control, and ROI
- Monitor and evaluate enforcement outcomes and adjust strategies accordingly
- Identify and report counterfeiting developments and techniques which undermine product security
- Work with packaging design and business teams to evaluate and implement product authentication technologies (e.g., serialization, digital watermarking, blockchain).
Stakeholder Engagement and Training
- Manage relationships with external investigation service suppliers
- Develop regional training programs to educate stakeholders on counterfeiting risks and mitigation opportunities
- Represent Haleon at regional industry forums, conferences and working groups to share intelligence, benchmark practices, and influence standards
- As a subject matter expert, support a regional network of non-ACF champions embedded across business units and functions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in law enforcement investigations, brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, or IP enforcement
- Experience of working with law enforcement, customs, and legal teams across international jurisdictions
- Proven experience in investigating and managing complex proactive investigations and enforcements
- Demonstrated success in managing third-party investigation service suppliers and operational budgets
- Professional certification such as Interpol Intellectual Property (IP) Crime College or recognized university anti-counterfeit or intellectual property program accreditation strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of IP laws, counterfeit trends, and enforcement mechanisms
- Exceptional written/oral communication
- High ethical standards, discretion, and resilience under pressure
