About the role and what you’ll do

An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join VSI as a member of our finance team. This is a great role for someone who is looking to work in a dynamic environment servicing some of our key clients. This is a fantastic role if you are early on in your finance career and want to develop your skills, whilst gaining exposure to other areas of the business, and work with different teams. Your responsibilities would include:

Production Accountancy

  • Identify and create projects under the centralized accounting system by discussions with Studios or by reviewing Studio trackers
  • Review Studios’ online trackers daily (where applicable) and process all changes on a timely manner. Provide feedback on improvement areas or escalate issues as and when required (clients, suppliers, and Studios)
  • Processing Group Project Management Invoices, ensuring agreed margins have been applied and escalation where there is a deviation or discrepancy
  • Processing of client and supplier invoices (both Studios as well as External)

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

  • Processing of a high volume of supplier and client invoices
  • Investigating and resolving invoice queries with suppliers and clients
  • Reconciling accounts and sending statements as required
  • Preparing the weekly payment run.

Month End Process

  • Assisting with updating schedules and reviewing of credit cards and expense claims
  • Assisting with month end tasks such as accruals, prepayments and Fixed Assets
  • Assist with reconciliations of Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Payroll and other Balance Sheet items

Essential Skills

  • Already studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of Excel including using formulae such as VLOOKUP, creating Pivot Tables, using filters, etc.
  • Have an eye for attention to detail and a strong desire for accuracy and efficiency
  • Be proactive and be able to prioritise and manage workload in order to meet deadlines
  • Previous experience in a similar role or experience in ERP systems would be considered a plus
