Accounting to Report Thailand Lead

About the Job 

A2R Thailand Lead is to implement and lead the Account-to-Report retain organization for Global Finance Services. He/she will be accountable for a full ownership of financial statement and responsible for overseeing the financial accounting operation and design the A2R operations in Sanofi Thailand to be in line with the global GFS operating core model.

A2R is an end-to-end process organization and consolidates the following activities: Fixed assets, Intercompany Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Enterprise Consolidation, Cash Accounting, External Reporting as well as transactional tax activities.        

She/He is responsible for ensuring proper delivery of all retained activities on site as per target operating model: Tax filling, statutory reporting and any country specific reporting. Apart from that, this role will require active participation in driving A2R continuous improvement initiatives.
 

Main Responsibilities 

A2R Thailand retained team organization

  • Implement as per core model and RACI the GFS retained organization for Thailand.
  • The role will have the overall accountability of the end-to-end A2R operations to deliver best-in-class service and to partner with CFO as well as Business Partners to ensure sustainable processes.

Partner with CFO

  • Support country CFO for all accounting topic and business development activities (strategic transactions) by providing expert technical accounting evaluation of potential acquisitions, strategic planning, or other alliance transactions.
  • Attend and contribute to the GFS Customer board meeting.
  • Monitor and ensure reporting of consolidation packages within Group calendar.

Accounting, Closing & Reporting

  • Accountable for the efficient, high quality and compliant delivery of an end-to-end service: Fixed assets, Intercompany Accounting, General Ledger Accounting, Enterprise Consolidation, External Reporting
  • Ensure all accounts are stated in accordance with international- and local Financial Reporting Standards and Sanofi Group Standards (SAGA)
  • Coordination of external audits
  • Responsible for submission of all legal entity reporting for entities to support release of all financial information to public.
  • The role also encompasses transactional tax activities.
  • Review and approve recording of financial transactions to ensure compliance with tax & other local regulations and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Manage any additional reporting entry or local statutory adjustment which may be needed to close properly the books.
  • Ensure final validation of data and reporting under both IFRS and Local Thailand GAAP
  • Coordinate account reconciliations and ensure they are performed timely for all balance sheet accounts
  • Ensure detailed analysis and explanation of analytical change been provided to CFOs for closing meetings.
  • Coordinate accounts committee reviews and preparation.
  • Ensure complex accounting topics and deals are correctly booked.

Local/Country tax matters and tax auditors

  • Ensure monthly tax return, annual CIT liquidation to tax authority in time and accurately.
  • Ensure compliance for indirect tax computation, control, and filling (VAT, Withholding tax, other indirect Tax).
  • Collaborate with tax teams on income tax computations, quarterly reporting.

Customer experience

  • Foster the One Team spirit between finance and Retained organizations to reinforce customer experience.
  • Ensure customer-facing activities in collaboration with finance.
  • Set up close relationships with global, regional, and local stakeholders when needed to allow smooth communication and efficient issue resolution.

Quality / Continuous improvement

  • Implement standard processes as defined by Global Process Owners and Regional Process Management teams and manage deviations to these standard processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure proper internal control framework in place.
  • Monitor performance across A2R process and define corrective actions required.
  • Contribute and support country, GFS regional as well as global projects.
  • Carve in / out of activities.
  • Core model tool implementation.
  • Regional or global initiatives.

Auditors

  • Liaise with internal and external auditors to secure smooth audits, comply with SOA requirements
  • Coordinate finance & other neighbouring functions inclusion into the audit
  • Justify auditors the main restatements and ensure reconciliation of the accounts, discuss options

About You 

  • 5–10 years’ accounting experience (GL/financial reporting), including 3–5+ years in finance/accounting firms.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting/Finance/Business, with knowledge of Thai GAAP, IFRS, and tax compliance.
  • Strong English communication (Speaking and Writing)
  • Proficient in SAP FI/CO, Magnitude, Blackline
  • Experienced in end-to-end project management and working in remote/matrix environments.
  • Strong delivery focus, problem-solving, critical thinking, resilience, and ability to handle peak workloads.
  • Leadership mindset, hands-on, able to align teams with Group objectives and collaborate effectively across functions.
