What the Role Entails

Join Tencent's International Accounting Hub as a Financial Accountant and be at the forefront of our global finance operations. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in steering our financial reporting processes and ensuring compliance with international standards. Reporting directly to the Head of Department, you'll oversee a range of critical functions, including journal entry preparation, general ledger management, and financial control. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned financial professional to lead system and process improvement initiatives, driving digitalization efforts across regions.   • Perform IFRS accounting and Local GAAP adjustments, including journal entry preparation, and manage key GL activities like asset registers, treasury, intercompany transactions, and payroll for timely month/year-end closings.
  • Ensure financial accuracy by owning financial controls for master data and general ledgers, including balance sheet reconciliation and analysis.
  • Prepare financial reports, investigate variances, liaise with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with accounting standards, best practices, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with auditors to complete local statutory reports and assist in board meetings for financial report approvals.
  • Provide technical accounting advice on major transactions such as new/amended standards adoption, acquisitions, and capital/debt raising.
  • Develop and maintain financial models, templates, and processes while identifying opportunities for system efficiencies and process automation.
  • Lead system projects (e.g., BI, HFM) and drive process improvements in financial reporting.

Who We Look For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or a related field; CA or CPA qualified with at least 5 years of experience in MNCs or renowned external audit professional firms.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial disclosures in commercial or professional settings.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills in both English and Chinese Mandarin in order to prepare and analyse financial statements and memos for various entities in the said languages
  • Skilled in Oracle or Hyperion general ledger systems and adept at implementing organizational systems and processes would be highly advantageous.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet strict deadlines, and maintain attention to detail while building strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Professional work ethic, integrity, and self-motivation, with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively in a team.
