Job Description

The Manager of Accounting is responsible for managing month-end/year-end close processes, maintenance of the general ledger, development of internal controls, day-to-day accounting operations, and oversight of one or more of the following: inventory, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed asset and/or rebate accounting groups including all corresponding activities and maintenance of proper internal controls. This position interacts with departments across the organization and will also be visible to several members of the senior leadership team. This role provides financial support to management and various departments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the activities relating to the maintenance and reporting of general corporate financial records and systems required to accurately reflect the company’s financial activity and condition, including:##Ensure accuracy, timeliness and completion of month-end balance sheet reconciliation processes##Participate in the preparation of month-end/year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP##Support the annual external financial audit process##Review, evaluate, and create proper internal control procedures
  • Lead an effective, timely and efficient monthly close process
  • Manage the financial activities relating to the accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory or rebate functions
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and corporate policies in all areas, including journal entries
  • Provide comprehensive, accurate, timely and relevant financial analysis and reporting to Prime management
  • Lead, coach and manage team members in order to deliver on dept. goals, coordinate workload, ensure quality, establish procedures, meet client/customer expectations and manage the costs of the services being provided
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or work experience; HS diploma or GED is required
  • 6 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance
  • 1 year of management/people leadership experience
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for work visa or residency sponsorship

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with ERP financial systems (SAP a plus)
  • Prior leadership and/or management experience
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • CPA or CMA
  • 2 years experience in public accounting
  • Process improvement and/or project management experience a strong plus
  • Proven team player that has a customer service approach and enjoys working in a high growth environment
  • Ability and desire to build and lead an effective, high performing team

Potential pay for this position ranges from $81,000.00 - $138,000.00 based on experience and skills.
