As Manager, Accounting, you will own the day‑to‑day accounting and month‑end close for a set of core operational accounting areas (including marketing and fixed assets), ensuring results are accurate, timely, and well‑controlled.
You will work closely with our global Centre of Excellence (COE) and brand accounting teams to standardize processes, improve reconciliations and controls, and support clear, high‑quality financial reporting and commentary for senior stakeholders.
This role is a good fit for a hands‑on Accounting Manager who enjoys process ownership, problem‑solving, and collaborating across Finance and the wider business.
The Role:
Core Accounting & Reporting
Financial Close: Lead and drive the month-end close for key areas (including marketing and fixed assets), ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the US GAAP general ledger and timely reconciliation completion.
Drive Financial Clarity: Provide insightful monthly and quarterly P&L and balance sheet flux analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders, providing critical visibility upwards by clearly articulating key drivers, risks, and one-off items.
Ensure Technical Integrity: Perform critical technical reviews and evaluations of commercial contracts (such as marketing agreements), applying strong technical accounting judgment with a balanced commercial perspective.
Act as Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a trusted resource by responding to ad-hoc queries with clear, consistent, and well-supported explanations across your areas of ownership.
Champion Process Improvement & Innovation
Transform Processes: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, identifying and driving opportunities to simplify, streamline, and automate close processes, including the appropriate use of AI tools.
Standardize Operations: Partner with the Centre of Excellence (COE) team to transition, standardize, and maintain recurring reconciliations and close tasks, ensuring consistency and a robust control environment.
Partner with the Business
Be a Strategic Partner: Work closely with business and functional partners to develop a deep commercial awareness, providing observations and recommendations that ensure efficient processes and a strong internal control framework.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with the Consolidation & Reporting, Finance Operations, and Tax teams to provide comprehensive impacts and considerations for key areas.
Lead & Develop the Team
Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop one direct report, and support the wider brand accounting and COE teams.
Build Capability: Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to junior team members and COE preparers, helping to build their capability and ownership over time.
Foster Communication: Coordinate effectively across multiple time zones (US, Europe, India, APAC) and foster a culture of transparent communication, normalizing timely and informal feedback to empower and develop the team.

Experience & Qualifications
Fully‑qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent), or equivalent strong experience in financial accounting.
Solid experience in financial accounting / GL roles, including ownership of month‑end close, reconciliations, and process improvement for key balance sheet and P&L areas.
Experience working with or alongside a shared service / COE model, including supporting process transitions and ongoing governance, is a plus.
Skills & ways of working
Strong technical grounding in US GAAP / IFRS and good accounting judgement on day‑to‑day issues.
Ability to standardize and document processes and to use data and systems to support reconciliations and analysis.
Clear, concise communicator, able to explain accounting topics and reconciliation outcomes to both finance and non‑finance partners.
Proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
Curious, hands-on and solution focussed, equally at ease in the detail and looking at the big picture.

The expected range of compensation for this position based in Toronto, Canada, including commission and/or bonuses, is $131,000 - $155,000 CAD. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a compensation range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required.

This role is eligible to be considered for an annual bonus.
