Job Description
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Lead and manage the execution of month-end close processes across various teams and accounts, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Review and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations across the region, ensuring adherence to internal controls and standards.
- Maintain and enhance a 2-day month-end close process, implementing improvements where necessary to elevate team performance and operational efficiency.
- Ensure the application of accounting standards, policies, and local regulatory requirements across all financial reporting activities.
- Oversee the timely resolution of outstanding balance sheet items, ensuring that issues are identified and addressed promptly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes, drive efficiency, and support broader financial initiatives.
- Continuously identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within the accounting function, driving best practices across the organization.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering their growth and capability in alignment with business objectives.
Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals to ensure timely and accurate financial results each period. Business partner with CHEP LATAM I2C, P2P, R2R as well as FP&A, Commercial Finance. Mentor, train, and develop senior accounting team as well as Genpact R2R team
Major/Key Accountabilities
- Lead a range of assigned month end close processes for Fixed Assets, SC Operations, AR, AP, Other Accrual accounts across CHEP ATAM and CHEP Auto
- Coordinate and prepare consolidation reporting for Brambles within given deadlines
- Reviewing journal entries across CHEP ATAM and CHEP Auto
- Reviewing Balance Sheet Accounts
- Maintain 2-day month-end close processes, and enhancing processes as required to lead the accounting team to higher standards
- Application of accounting standards and practices in accordance with accounting standards, policy and local country requirements
- Ensure balance sheet items for assigned accounts are followed up and resolved in a timely manner
- Liaise with the RPO R2R Manager to co-ordinate the 3rd Party Provider’s assigned scope of work, providing constructive feedback where necessary to improve collective performance
- Work as Business Partner to provide data and knowledge with FP&A, Finance, and Asset Productivity
- Integrity in the Financial Statements.
- Develop local financial statements on a quarterly basis
- Keep good track between statutory and reporting books.
- Manage, review and approve work for 1 CHEP LATAM senior accountants
- Train and develop existing team
- Internal and external audit requests
- Adhoc projects from management
Measures
- Timely completion of all close deadlines in accordance with month-end close calendar
- Accurate reporting of balance sheet accounts and monthly accruals
- Low turnover for key team members
- Continuous positive feedback from business partners within LATAM, Supply Chain Finance, Commercial Finance, FP&A, and Controllership
- Non higher risk audit reports.
Authority / Decision Making
- Review journal entries and approve up to $100Kusd
- Recommend hiring/termination of new accountants
- Determining proper accruals for all balance sheet accounts related to Business Operations
- Approval of Re invoicing, credit notes and purchase orders according with authorization matrix.
