The Accounting Manager for Iron Mountain’s ALM division is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the North America Controller. This fully remote position supports accounting and financial reporting for North American ALM activities and requires strong technical accounting expertise, particularly in US GAAP.
The role works closely with a team of accountants and cross-functional partners to ensure accurate financial results, strong internal controls, and timely reporting. While this position does not have direct reports, it plays a key role in coordinating work, providing guidance, and driving process improvements within the accounting function.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for the ALM North America business
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting schedules
Ensure accurate accounting for revenue, cost of services, inventory, fixed assets, and accruals
Apply US GAAP to complex accounting matters and business transactions
Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and SOX/internal control requirements
Revenue & Inventory Accounting
Perform and review accounting for ALM revenue streams, including asset disposition and remarketing services
Support inventory accounting for IT assets, including valuation, reserves, obsolescence, and write-downs
Partner with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate financial treatment of asset flows
Work closely with a team of accountants to coordinate close activities and resolve issues
Partner with FP&A, operations, and commercial teams to support financial analysis and reporting
Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses
Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, documentation, and controls
Support SOX compliance efforts, including control execution and documentation
Participate in system enhancements and cross-functional initiatives impacting accounting
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
6–8+ years of progressive accounting experience
Strong, hands-on expertise in US GAAP and its application in a complex business environment
Experience with revenue recognition, inventory accounting, and month-end close
Ability to work effectively in a fully remote role aligned to US Eastern Time
Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
CPA (US or Canada) or equivalent professional designation
Experience in asset-intensive, logistics, technology, or services-based businesses
