Position Description

As an Accounting Manager in the corporate accounting group, you will have a central role in leading the accounting team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Extend is looking for candidates having experience with people management, implementing process/system improvements, and preparing schedules to support monthly/quarterly reviews and the annual financial statement audit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close by validating accruals, reviewing account reconciliations for various areas, journal entries, and conducting fluctuation analyses
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP standards, merchant contract reviews, including understanding of ASC 606 and ASC 944
  • Work directly with our external audit team to support the engagement by providing supporting reconciliation schedules, evidence, and process overview
  • Support the implementation of new systems, tools, and processes to streamline close and build scalable solutions to support the growth of the Company
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to automate core accounting processes including reconciliation of data, reporting, and analysis to build financial close efficiencies
  • Manage a team of diverse individuals at various levels to accomplish tasks accurately and within specified deadlines
  • Manage the corporate spend processes including automation and improvement of procurement processes 
  • Front line interaction with various business partners including Sales, Legal, Engineering, Actuarial, and Analytics
  • Manage and prepare schedules to support monthly reviews, annual audit, and supporting regulatory reporting for various tax purposes
  • Communicate with external tax consultants and manage all quarterly and annual tax compliance filings
  • Ability to easily adapt in a fast-paced working environment and drive special projects through to completion

Experience/Skills Required

  • 5+ years total experience in revenue and core accounting and public accounting (ideal candidate will have public accounting firm experience. Corporate industry experience not required, but preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA Required
  • Prior management experience is required
  • Experience with NetSuite or other large ERP required
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month end/year end close process a must
  • Intermediate/advanced Excel skills (e.g., complex formula & Vlookups experience) and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP

Expected Pay Range: $155,000 per year salaried*

* The target base salary range for this position is listed above. Individual salaries are determined based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
