Purpose of the role

The Accounting Expert oversees all accounting and financial operations for ZOLL Poland. This role ensures timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities in accordance with US GAAP, while maintaining full compliance with Polish statutory and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands‑on role that combines operational accounting, compliance, and strategic financial support.

Location: 04-993 Warszawa - 3 days per week in the office

Reporting to: EMEA Finance Director

Key responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Compliance

  • Manage daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities, supported by robust documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, local accounting standards, Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and ISO requirements.
  • Maintain full ownership of the Polish general ledger.
  • Oversee the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations and manage cash accounts.

Accounts Payable

  • Process supplier invoices and execute weekly payment runs.
  • Reconcile AP ledgers monthly and ensure suppliers are paid within agreed terms.
  • Manage cash flow, including valuation and reserve assessment of receivables.
  • Coordinate and process monthly payroll.

Accounts Receivable

  • Support cash collection efforts.
  • Negotiate and monitor customer payment plans.
  • Track outstanding accounts and calculate required reserves.

Tax & Statutory Requirements

  • Support statutory reporting, including VAT, Corporate Income Tax, and other local tax obligations.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Polish tax and statutory requirements.
  • Manage employee expense reimbursements.
  • Liaise with external authorities during audits, compliance reviews, and inspections.
  • Intercompany & Corporate Reporting

  • Execute monthly intercompany accounting, including communication and reconciliation with Corporate and other subsidiaries.
  • Ensure internal controls operate effectively and in line with corporate policies.

Business Support & Analysis

  • Provide financial analysis to support leadership decision-making.
  • Contribute to the development of functional strategy.
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to support operational efficiency.

Expert-Level Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert with advanced technical knowledge.
  • Provide training on finance processes to employees.
  • Resolve complex accounting and business issues requiring deep analysis.
  • Exercise autonomy with significant independent judgment.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders beyond immediate areas.
  • Contribute to developing new practices or policies as needed.

  • Required Skills & Experience

  • Qualified Accountant with a strong commercial approach and a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and experience in a multinational environment.
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in Polish and English (written and verbal).
  • Demonstrated competency in auditing and all aspects of commercial bookkeeping.
  • Experience in commercial business analysis and multi‑currency transactions.
  • Proven ability to lead and contribute within change‑management and continuous‑improvement environments.
  • Strong persuasion and influencing skills, with the ability to partner effectively across teams.
