About the role

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Accounting Consultant – SAP Implementation, North America to drive process optimization, automation, and system implementation across key finance functions including Accounts Payable (AP), Intercompany (ICO), Fixed Assets (FA), Cash, and other related finance processes for the North American region. This role will support the US & Canada while partnering with global stakeholders to design and implement scalable solutions aligned with business growth, standardization and compliance requirements as top priorities. The role will be expected to work in a fast-paced environment, flexible work hours to ensure connection with a global program team and with a defined ERP implementation deadline that includes data migration, SAP system implementation & other integrated systems into the accounting ecosystem.

In this role, you will be based in our Americas head office in Lone Tree, CO with a hybrid work environment of 3 days in office per week minimum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support transformation initiatives across AP, ICO, FA, Month/Year End, Cash, and other related processes, ensuring alignment with global finance strategy and IFRS accounting standards.  Specific areas of focus will include:
  • Collaborate with consulting partners, finance teams and technical resources to implement and optimize SAP S/4HANA (transitioning from Oracle)
  • Drive process standardization to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Support change management efforts including training, communication, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS Accounting Standards, and internal controls.
  • Partner with all program streams (Forecast to Plan, Offer to Cash, and Plan to Inventory) to help ensure end-to end processes are connected and effective
  • Manage or support the global roll-out, including build, testing, training and hyper care phases.
  • Support in the data migration & construct, including master & transactional data from Oracle & QuickBooks into SAP S/4HANA

Key Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to meet and demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and abilities in your application and at interview:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in finance operations or transformation roles, ideally in a multinational environment.
  • Proven track record in process improvement, project management, and ERP implementations.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with shared services, global process ownership, or center of excellence (CoE) models is a plus.

Desired Skills

  • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, especially in AP, ICO, FA, Cash, and other related modules.
  • Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., VIM, OCR).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed, and global environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement certification.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, ability to flex to processes and provide sound guidance as well as collaboration to align on global standards

  • Pay Range in the United States: $75.00 - $80.00 per hour based upon experience, including a $10,000 completion bonus, payable at the conclusion of the contract. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
  • This role is not eligible for benefits.
