Accounting & Compliance Manager

The Accounting & Compliance Manager is accountable for managing an effective and efficient operation of the day-to-day accounting function in accordance with Nutreco’s accounting policies and procedures. This position oversees the treasury, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, whilst being responsible for statutory reporting, tax and audit compliance and management of the business risk framework. This position leads balance sheet management and forecasting including that of inventories and property, plant and equipment, along with supporting corporate and local finance projects, and provides leadership to the finance team.

The Accounting & Compliance Manager is responsible for the statutory financial statements, internal controls, systems and contributes to management reporting along with supporting decision making from a financial perspective, analysing a wide variety of business processes from various perspectives, such as costs, revenues, profitability etc. and assists in preparing proposals regarding CAPEX projects to ensure best value investments are made.

Job Description:

Accounting & Reporting

Oversees accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger maintenance, ensuring accurate account reconciliations and timely financial reporting along with business support and administration.

Planning, Control & Treasury

Supports the business through budgeting, forecasting, and liquidity planning, including preparation of multi-year plans and monthly reports. Manages treasury activities to ensure optimal cash flow and financial stability.

Governance, Compliance & Risk Management

Ensures adherence to corporate policies, accounting standards, and statutory requirements, implementing new procedures as needed. Maintains robust internal controls, prepares for audits, and ensures compliance is upheld across the finance and administration functions. Manages the business risk framework and oversees the insurance portfolio.

Strategic Analysis & Continuous Improvement

Delivers financial analyses to support management decisions, investment proposals, and ad hoc business needs. Leads projects to improve controls, reporting systems, and efficiency, contributing to long-term strategic goals.

Leadership & People Management and Development

Provides operational leadership to the finance team, including coaching, task allocation, and performance reviews. Drives professional development through mentoring, training, and succession planning while offering backup support across the team.

Health, Safety, Environment & Quality

Implements and ensures compliance with Nutreco Health, Safety, Environment and Quality procedures and policies.
