Job Summary
The Accounting Clerk coordinates general ledger activity via journal entries related to deposits and other assigned activities

Reports to:

Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:
• Prepare daily cash report and reconciles cash clearing issues
• Review travel reimbursement requests, make corrections, and process accordingly
• Verify AP check registers to printed checks
• Upload and post daily cash spreadsheets
• Prepare and send audit confirmation letters
• Assist accounting team with research items as needed
• Transport checks received in accounting to cashier’s office for posting and processing
• All other related duties assigned under accounting

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED
• +1 year of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role

Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
• N/A

Skills and Abilities
• Able to articulate applied principles and procedures of accounting and/or bookkeeping
• Numerical ability to perform rapid and accurate arithmetic computations with or without adding machine/calculator
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and/or Access
• Ability to operate computer and calculator by touch
• Ability to compute figures and prepare financial statements following standard methods and procedures

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
The person in this role will have interactions with other accountants, department directors, and senior level management within the hospital

Physical Capabilities
Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Should be able to lift 10 lbs. Work involves sitting for prolonged periods of time. Hearing acuity is required to be able to accurately transact business dealings

Environmental/Working Conditions
This position is subject to inside environmental conditions, including variations in temperature
