At PwC Malta, we help organisations and individuals build trust and create sustainable value. As part of a global network of more than 370,000 professionals across 149 countries, we bring together diverse perspectives, experience, and technology to solve important problems.

We’re looking for an Accounting Assistant to join our Finance and Corporate Services team. In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals, supporting a diverse portfolio of clients with essential accounting and compliance activities. You’ll have the opportunity to build strong foundations in accounting, develop your skills through structured learning, and grow your career in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Your Mission

Your career with PwC is what you make it. As our new Accounting Assistant, you will:

  • Support client accounting activities by accurately processing purchase and sales invoices within our accounting systems

  • Assist with the processing of bank transactions, accruals, prepayments, and the maintenance of fixed asset registers

  • Prepare and perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records

  • Maintain organised and up‑to‑date accounting files, including invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation

  • Contribute to month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including support in the preparation of management accounts

  • Assist the team during audit processes by providing required documentation and support

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Finance and Corporate Services team on general accounting and administrative tasks

  • Learn from experienced professionals while building practical, hands‑on accounting knowledge in a real‑world environment

This role offers exposure to a variety of accounting activities, continuous learning opportunities, and the flexibility to grow at your own pace.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Holds a basic accounting qualification (such as A‑Level Accounting, a bookkeeping qualification, or an equivalent)

  • Has up to two years of experience in an accounting or finance support role

  • Has a good understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, including double‑entry bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations

  • Is comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel

  • Communicates clearly and professionally in written and spoken English

  • Is organised, detail‑oriented, and values accuracy in their work

  • Can manage priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment

  • Is eager to learn, develop new skills, and contribute to a collaborative team

  • Brings a positive, professional approach when interacting with internal colleagues and external stakeholders

We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who are motivated to build a career in accounting.

  • A dedicated Career Coach to support your growth and career progression

  • A comprehensive Wellbeing Programme, including confidential Employee Assistance services

  • Regular performance discussions focused on development and constructive feedback

  • A collaborative, inclusive environment where different perspectives are valued

  • Opportunities to work with local and international clients and teams

  • Social and sports initiatives that support connection and work‑life balance

  • An open‑door culture where your voice is heard and respected
