The Role
This role is an integral part of the Global Compensation Accounting team tasked with accounting for the Company’s domestic and international operations in accordance with US GAAP. Primary responsibilities include compensation accounting for various countries and related balance sheet account reconciliations. The Sr Accountant will act as an interface with other departments within the Company to understand and proactively review, analyze and reconcile various balance sheet and income statement accounts
Your Impact
- Preparation of monthly compensation journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Collaborate cross functionally and record appropriate intercompany, accruals and compensation entries.
- Monthly recording of intercompany cross charges related to compensation accounting by timely communication with the intercompany AP and AR teams, journal entries, and accruals to ensure intercompany is balanced.
- Assist in streamlining and automating transactions workflow within Oracle and related projects.
- Incorporate ongoing system reporting improvements in the monthly close process.
- Assist in preparation of schedules, analysis and financial results for external auditors.
- Assist the team as needed including any ad-hoc project work.
- Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Must be able to seek out additional tasks as time allows and assume additional responsibilities.
- Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical, quantitative skills and accounting research skills.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 5+ years of compensation accounting experience, multi-currency accounting experience, and intercompany reconciliation knowledge is a requirement.
- Thorough understanding of US GAAP.
- Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency in both preparing and reviewing work.
- Positive and professional demeanor
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team; be flexible, self-motivated and proactive.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word and MS Excel.
