We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Accountant to join our Finance department in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, you will be responsible for analyzing financial information, preparing journal entries, and delivering timely and accurate financial reports to management. In this role, you will be a team player with excellent attention to detail and the ability to learn and work with various financial systems.
You will be responsible for:
- Executing day-to-day accounting transactions including sales, cash receipts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate bank, AR, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Supporting period-end close activities, including preparation of expense accruals.
- Preparing routine financial and operational reports to support internal stakeholders.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies and reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborating with Finance team members to support reporting, forecasting, and audits.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and data quality.
- Assisting with special projects and ad hoc analysis as needed.
You have:
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting role.
- Completed or are working towards a professional accounting designation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Essbase, Power BI, Anaplan and/or Oracle Peoplesoft is considered an asset.
You are:
- Analytical with the ability to interpret trends and prepare meaningful analysis.
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal with strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Able to work independently with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Driven and enthusiastic, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
