Job Summary
Accountant III is a senior-level accounting professional responsible for complex financial reporting, analysis, and system management, often requiring independent judgment and advanced accounting expertise. Their responsibilities include maintaining, posting, and balancing accounting and financial statements, records, documents, or reports. They ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. They collaborate with other departments to address discrepancies, prepare reports, and assist in budget planning and auditing processes.

Job Specific Responsibilities
1. Maintain and calculate MD/APP quarterly RVU and quality bonus calculations.
2. Review physician and APP contracts and adjust compensation schedules as needed.
3. Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare complex financial reports for internal and external use.
4. Develop and implement complex accounting system modifications through usage of Epic, Workday and Blackline.
5. Analyzes costs and revenues to support decision-making.
6. Review and guide work of junior accounting staff, ensuring proper application of accounting principles and internal controls.
7. Assist Controller in preparation of quarterly and annual state and federal required filings.
8. Participate in policy and procedure development.
9. Serve as member of 401k Committee.

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including complex financial analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of and experience with personal computers and related software including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of and experience with evaluating internal controls and segregation of duties.
• Knowledge of and experience with Workday and Blackline is preferred.

• N/A
• Preferred: CPA candidacy or licensure.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial systems, GAAP/GASB, proficiency in reconciliation, reporting, and analytical skills.
• Ability to demonstrate independent judgment and handling of challenging accounting assignments.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work with financial software and spreadsheets.
• Ability to respond to ever changing needs and situation.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
Collaborate with colleagues in accounting, practice management, and other relevant departments. Communicate e4ffectively with team members and supervisors.

Physical Capabilities
Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Should be able to lift 10 lbs. Work involves sitting for prolonged periods of time. Hearing acuity is required to be able to accurately transact business dealings.

Environmental/Working Conditions
This position is subject to inside environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions is present, however, temperature changes inside the building may occur. This position may travel to off-site locations; therefore, participations in certain activities will be based on presenting weather conditions.
