Major Duties:

  • You will design, adapt, revise and evaluate accounting reports, procedures, and operations encompassing multiple financial management/ accounting systems across subordinate commands.
  • You will ensure policies, practices, and procedures in place at operating activities comply with DoD and DFAS-HQ policy.
  • You will ensure all accounting documents, civilian pay, travel entitlements, contractor payment, and all other financial documents are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • You will review a variety of incoming, outgoing, and summary financial reports to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of financial operations and financial reports submitted from operating activities.
  • You will review/analyze new legislation and proposed policy changes to determine impacts on current operations.

Qualifications: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) financial management regulations, Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) guidance, and federal accounting principles. Experience analyzing and resolving complex accounting issues within an integrated financial system, such as GFEBS, ERP, or similar government platforms. Experience supporting external audits and implementing corrective action plans to address audit findings.
