DESCRIPTION:
Join our Finance team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and contribute to our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. As an Accountant, you'll handle financial operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global environment. You'll have opportunities to enhance processes, ensure compliance, and contribute to the company's continued growth and success through accurate financial management and reporting.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To perform a variety of accounting activities (A/P accounting, Invoicing, Bank treasury, Intercompany transaction, Expense) according to accounting principles so that general ledger and sub ledger are accurate and up to date. Partner with Customer Service, IT, and other groups on developing new productivity initiatives
  • Lead month-end close and prepare entries for financial systems.
  • Create invoices and local VAT return and ensure a local tax statutory regulation
  • Analyze the profitability of products and services, identify P&L drivers to identify risks and opportunities, and drive actions
  • To follow established policies and procedures to ensure the accounting activities comply with the internal and external regulations and requirements
  • Analyze transactional / operational data, identify anomalies, recommend accruals / reversals to ensure accurate reporting
  • Proactively learn and adopt new systems and tools to improve analytics capability and accuracy
  • Analyze vendor cost and manage a vendor contract


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required/ Finance, accounting and Business preferred
  • 5+ years of financial work experience, including at least 1-year financial analysis work
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, month-end close processes, and financial controls
  • Experience with account reconciliations and journal entry preparation
  • Proficiency in major ERP systems (CODA, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
  • Experience with financial reporting tools and systems (Hyperion, BlackLine) preferred
  • System automation (Power BI, RPA, AI) and process improvement mindset
  • Customer-focused approach with ability to build strong stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity and professional ethics
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Korean
  • Commute to Youngjong office (location for Clinical Trials Divsiion) of Incheon once a week
