This position is Hybrid Remote Work. The duties of this position are performed remotely, as well as our central office in Salem.  In addition, the ability to report to Salem is required when business or operational needs are dependent on onsite activities.

What we are looking for:

  • Provide accounts receivable Accounting for the agency.
  • Complete the input of transactions into Sage A/R and ensures balances in Sage A/R reconcile to R*STARS.
  • Reviews and approves revenue transactions, processes correcting entries, recommends process improvements, and assists in the Department’s year-end closing processes by making sure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP, OAM and agency policy.
  • Monitor the accounts receiving aging report, liquidates delinquent accounts timely, and assigns accounts to the Department of Revenue for full collection services.
  • Track liquidated and delinquent account activity for quarterly and annual performance reporting to the Department of Administrative Services Statewide Accounts Receivable Management and Legislative Fiscal Office.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Government Financial Manager certificate

OR

A bachelor’s degree in accounting

OR

Successful completion of the State of Oregon Accounting Career Mobility Program or equivalent accounting certificate program from an accredited college or university

OR

32 quarter (21 semester) credit hours in Accounting from an accredited institution AND two years of technical, para- professional accounting experience to include:

a) classifying, analyzing, and reconciling financial data and records

b) designing, recommending, and installing modifications of accounting methods, procedures, forms, and records

c) preparing financial statements and reports

d) analyzing and interpreting laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances to ensure the legality of financial transactions, and

e) analyzing, interpreting, and making recommendations related to accounting transactions, accounts and account relationships resulting in accounting entries.

Note: Driver’s License Check - This position requires the operation of a state vehicle for the purpose of conducting official State business. If your license is from outside Oregon, you must submit at least a three-year court/DMV printout.  If you have an Oregon driver’s license, a record check will be conducted on the top candidate to ensure a valid license and acceptable driving record.

  • Ability to stop, bend and lift files and supplies up to 50 lbs.
