As an Account Manager – General Metal Finishing (GMF) at Atotech brand of MKS, you will partner closely with our customers, technical teams, business management, and internal commercial stakeholders to stabilize, grow, and expand our GMF business across the Northwest region of the Czech Republic. You will own a customer portfolio in the automotive supply chain (Tier 2 & Tier 3) and will be responsible for both safeguarding existing accounts and developing new business opportunities.

In this role, you will report directly to the Business Manager for the Czech Republic and collaborate closely with the Business Director.

You Will Make an Impact By:

  • Developing new accounts and expanding existing ones within an established geographic territory (Northwest Czech Republic).
  • Acting as the primary commercial contact: calling on prospective customers, identifying opportunities, and delivering product demonstrations and technical support.
  • Providing accurate price quotations, supporting negotiations, and ensuring alignment with both customer needs and company strategy.
  • Maintaining deep product expertise in General Metal Finishing with emphasis on electroplating and decorative/functional plating solutions.
  • Representing MKS externally and internally — being the voice of the customer while embodying our commercial excellence standards.

Travel Requirements: Up to 60–70% travel (minimum 3 days/week) within the region.

Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of related commercial experience.

Additional required experience specific to this role:

  • Strong experience in electroplating, GMF, surface finishing, metal treatment, or similar technical sales environment.
  • Proven ability to manage and grow accounts in industrial or automotive supply chain networks.
  • Demonstrated capability to stabilize customer relationships and recover lost share.
  • Ability to operate autonomously in a field-based role, managing your own schedule and customer priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills in Czech and solid business English.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

  • Experience in automotive Tier 2/Tier 3 customer environments.
  • Knowledge of POP / decorative plating, metal finishing chemistry, or related technologies.
  • Experience working in an international matrix organization.
  • Familiarity with technical troubleshooting in plating processes.
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (preferably SAP C4C), Microsoft Office, and Concur.
