What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking an Account Executive, SLED primarily responsible for driving new client acquisition in the SLED vertical using all of Bandwidth’s available products.
What You'll Do:
- Work with Bandwidth sales leadership to develop and grow our SLED business, focusing on securing new state, local, and education customers.
- Work closely with the Channel team and Sales Development team to drive the sourcing of strategic leads within this vertical.
- Partner with prospective SLED agencies, school districts, universities, and municipalities to guide their transition of voice, 911, and messaging solutions to the cloud.
- Identify and build new account relationships from leads, cold outreach, account mapping with key partners, and other internal sources made available to you.
- Maintain and grow the acquired new business to maximize revenue growth, while continuing efforts in new business development.
- Analyze SLED marketplace needs, technology requirements, funding cycles, and budget constraints, providing feedback internally to improve positioning and execution.
- Manage complex commercial and contractual negotiations.
- Sell through multiple levels of a target account by building relationships and utilizing multiple resources within Bandwidth.
- Proactively manage pipeline; input, monitor, and update opportunities in a timely fashion.
- Develop and maintain an up-to-date understanding of Bandwidth's solutions and how they support the missions of SLED organizations vs. competitive solutions.
- Research and actively identify emerging trends that influence Bandwidth’s value proposition.
What You Need:
- 5+ years of sales experience selling into SLED accounts—state, local government, or education institutions—preferably in telecom, SaaS, or cloud services.
- History of meeting and exceeding sales quota.
- Experience co-selling alongside Channel Partners to drive mutual growth.
- Established relationships with director-level and above decision makers within SLED IT, procurement, and administrative leadership.
- Strong prospecting skills with a proven track record of identifying and closing new logo opportunities.
- A deep understanding of the complexities around products and technology integrations.
- Strong collaborative skills, working effectively with cross-functional teams such as legal, product, engineering, and marketing.
Bonus Points:
- Experience selling CPaaS, UCaaS, SaaS, or telecom solutions.
- Knowledge of telecommunications technologies, particularly SIP voice, with a familiarity of SMS/text messaging being a plus.
- Understanding of the telecommunications industry, trends and competitive landscape.
- History of going “deep and wide” selling strategic telecom solutions to multiple departments within a public entity.
- Proficient in the use of internal resources (lead generation, marketing events, industry practices) to identify target accounts and build the required relationship to win.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
