Summary: Provide prompt service to insureds; service new and renewal commercial and personal lines policies. Assist producers in preparing and maintaining new and renewal account submissions and proposals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for servicing mid-sized to large commercial accounts with little to no supervision.
  • Perform supportive tasks for producers as assigned according to agency guidelines
  • Verbal and written communication with insureds and company underwriters.
  • Check endorsements and policies for accuracy.
  • Prepare various Acord forms.
  • Manage accounts in agency management system (Epic) including following up on activities.
  • Obtain additional information to complete submissions.
  • Assist producer in preparing/reviewing/marketing accounts for submission and determining/negotiating price and policy conditions with company underwriter.
  • Prepare presentation, ID cards, certificates, and invoices.
  • Review and grade motor vehicle records.
  • Research coverages and various topics when needed.
  • Adhere to company workflow and system procedures.
  • Help insured to report claims, if needed.
  • Help train and assist Account Representative and Assistant Account Representative in agency  procedures, workflow and processes.

Education/Experience:

Four to ten years related experience  and/or  training;  or equivalent  combination of education  and experience. INS  21, 22, 23 or a strong working knowledge of all lines of business. Willingness to expand insurance knowledge through insurance related courses.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures. Ability to effectively respond  to questions  from  customers, underwriters, and producers through email or by phone.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral  form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in difficult situations.

Computer Skills:

Ability to efficiently work in Word and develop spreadsheets in Excel utilizing various functions. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Outlook. Demonstrate the ability to work in agency management system (Epic).

Licenses:

Must have and maintain current Property and Casualty agent’s license. Take continuing education classes to maintain license.

Environmental Ability:

Be able to work in fast paced environment. Must be flexible and able to adapt to frequently changing priorities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job  has  no supervisory  responsibilities.
