Job Summary: As an Accident Management Officer, you will be responsible providing Program Direction and expert technical advice in the field of accident management for the National Fleet Accident Program. Location of Position: Atlanta, GA, Kansas City, MO, Fort Worth, TX, Vandenberg Spaceforce Base, CA We are currently filling 1 vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed.

Major Duties:

  • The Office of Travel, Transportation and Logistics (TTL) provides governmentwide solutions for travel, transportation, fleet management, and emergency management. As an Accident Management Officer, you will be responsible for performing the following duties: Determines means of improving cost effectiveness of the program and implements changes involving the Fleet Management Centers (FMCs). Monitoring analysis of monthly financial reports and on-site observations devises more efficient, effective and economical methods to provide quality service to customers and improve efficiency. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees; evaluates work performance of subordinates; gives advice, counsel or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Coordinates and supervises all activities of the Accident Management Center (AMC), ensuring that procurement of the warranted contracting officers meets contracting regulations. Maintains and integrates financial management systems including budgeting, accounting and managerial-financial reporting. Coordinates and manages activities required for claims resolution to ensure recovery of costs for accidents attributed to third parties. Coordinates, directs and supervises all activities of the AMC, ensuring that accident/repair diagnoses are accurate, that warranty rights are preserved, that the highest levels of service are provided, that payments are made as prescribed by regulation and that the maintenance database is maintained promptly and accurately. Devises methods of evaluating the program by developing detailed reports from the national computer database and using reports provided monthly by the GSA Finance Division. Works with other AMC Managers and Central Office program officials to analyze and update the national vehicle preventive maintenance program. Works with FMCs, customer agencies, and commercial vendors to implement changes and ensure quality, timely and cost-effective repairs needed to meet established performance measures; Works with FMCs, customer agencies, and commercial vendors to implement procedural changes impacting the Accident Management program.

To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as having experience with fleet operations in the automotive field in the areas of acquisitions, maintenance repair, and accident management. This experience must include the following: Serving as a liaison working with customers and vendors implementing procedural changes impacting an Accident Management program; Inputting data into an automated vehicle management system to manage fleet acquisition and repair; and Providing direction, guidance and coordination of fleet management program policies and initiatives to staff.
